The Fight for Agri-Workers Rights: From the Fields to the EU
EFFAT along with MEPs and EU officials visited Borgo Mezzanone (Puglia), Italy's largest shanty town, to experience first hand the reality migrant and undocumented farm workers face on the ground in the European fields. After the visit FLAI CGIL and EFFAT organised a roundtable to assess the reality in the region and urge national and European Governance to act.

EFFAT Executive Committee
Following its 6th Congress, EFFAT convened its inaugural ExCo meeting in Copenhagen at the invitation of 3F and the Nordic Unions. During the meeting, we adopted key position papers and the biannual sectoral and committee action plans. For the first time, we also held a strategic discussion during the ExCo, and this time the topic was AI.

#EndingAbuse: Restoring Fair Work in Europe
EFFAT along with invited MEPs, workers, trade unions, and the European Commission made the case for an EFFAT Directive on fair working conditions in subcontracting chains and labour intermediation.

A CAP New Day: EFFAT Kicks Off Post-2027 CAP Demands
In the presence of EU Commissioner Hansen, workers, and MEPs, EFFAT officially launched "A new Day for CAP: A More Social CAP for a Truly Attractive European Agriculture.” The document lays out a bold vision to reform the EU’s agricultural policy and deliver safer, fairer, and more dignified working conditions in the sector.

The European Commission's Omnibus Package is a Direct Attack on Workers' Rights
At the last Executive Committee in Copenhagen, EFFAT adopted a resolution against the Omnibus package, aimed at simplifying reporting obligations in the EU’s sustainability framework. This proposal would directly address the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
